I tried Mama.
I tried my best to be good to other people
But they weren’t good to me
I have been hurt in so many places
I am tired, Mama
Tired of pretending to be someone
That can fit in their tiny little minds
They will never see me as their own
I was scared, Mama
I was scared for a long time
But then one day it all faded like a dream
I never belonged here
I am the tree, Mama
I am the wind that wiped off your tear
I am the water that flows in your veins
When all the blood bleeds away
I am free, Mama
They never could bind me in chains
I am out exploring this wide world
Do not search for me, Mama
I am cozily tucked in right between your lungs.
